Janet Melman is a voice over artist, animation writer and producer, and content creator. She is currently the voice of the original mascot character Sherbert on the “Sherbert Shenanigans” streaming channels, for which she also writes, produces and performs using VR technology under the pen name: Rai☆. The “Magical Beast Sherbert” IP created by Janet is steadily growing in international popularity, with the unique adventures of a character with one foot in the metaverse.

Janet began training in voice-over and acting in 1997, but in 1999 pivoted to animation production, first working on Nickelodeon’s “Chalk Zone” (for Galaxy Digimation) and later opening her own studio: Cybergraphix Animation. With a team of Emmy Award-winning animators, artists and director, Janet helped to produce a number of original pitches for clients, as well as animation for music videos and commercials, including music videos “Cry Baby Cry” by Santana, and “I’m Throw’d” by DJ Paul Wall. Her first love still being acting, she continued to hone her craft, mentored by the top names in the field: Charlie Adler, Ginny McSwain and Dino Andrade.

After the recession of 2008, Janet pivoted to working with anime studios in Japan, becoming an independent producer and client liaison for North American game companies wishing to add authentic anime cut scenes and character designs to their games. She worked with sakevisual on their “Backstage Pass” and “Jinsei” series, and with Sad Panda Studios for their anime-styled dating sim.
